Experiences, Workshops, and other Healing Delights

About the Space–

The Living Museum of Herbal Wisdom is curated by Mexican, Panamanian, Californian professor and herbalist Faith Hanna. Our mission is to inspire deeper, richer, and more harmonious relationships among plants, people, and land through experiences with herbal allies, events, locally-made gifts, and other delights.*

The 6-10 person indoor apothecary/room has a sweeping chalkwall. There is also a larger outdoor space/garden with dozens of medicinal plants. The entire space is available for workshops, events, and 1-1 sessions with local medicine makers, healers, artists, teachers, and creators.

If this resonates with you, please get in touch - we love collaborations.

About me, Faith Hanna, your host–

I was born in the “City of Eternal Spring,” Cuernavaca, Morelos, Mexico and I spent most of my childhood living right by the Metropolitan Park, a jungle in Panama City, Panama, one of the most biodiverse countries on earth.

I started my journey into herbalism a skeptic. I didn't believe that plants could or did live up to the fantastical stories I had heard about them. Still, I was drawn to knowing the names and folklore of plants, and I decided that going to herbalism school would be a fun way to ground myself during an arduous year in grad school.

I quickly fell in love. There is palpable, undeniable beauty in the process of making home-made medicine: in growing and gathering stems of "enchanter's herb," purple-flowered blue vervain, beloved and highly-regarded in Africa, Asia, America, Europe, and beyond, and doing this as the sun rises, and gifting a little honey to the land in return. There is healing in mixing orange calendula petals and bright green comfrey with helichrysum, a plant named for Helios, the god of the sun, and khrysos, the Greek word for gold, then adding fresh-pressed Californian olive oil, allowing all of it to soak in sunlight for a month, then straining, and feeling, in the process, the balm of these soothing herbs on my hands.

Since 2022, I’ve been immersed in studying, apprenticing, and learning from many healing traditions and their practitioners–shamans, curanderos/as/es, hakims/as, nurse, doctors, witches (from the old English "witan," meaning: wise/one who knows). I’ve also learned from visionary artists, and plenty of students in my role as community college professor. In early 2026, I stumbled into an exquisite space and plenty of support that allowed me to grow an idea, hunch, and feeling into a Living Museum of Herbal Wisdom.

Today, I am partnering with great teachers, herbalists, and plant-allies to bring you the best of traditional and contemporary healing wisdom.

If that at all speaks to you, please come visit sometime soon.
